Anyone have a marketing contact at a group like orbitz, travelocity, expedia etc? Hitting some walls at the moment and need to either book rooms or make a deal..

Call the general manager of a prospective hotel directly. They are able to wheel and deal to their hearts content, as opposed to online agents who have their set prices. If you show them that they'll fill a bunch of rooms all at once or will keep rooms filled for a decent length of time, they'll be willing to cut you break. I am a consultant and spend long periods of time in a room (several months or years depending on the project - although usually only during the week), and I've done this just about every place I've gone.

It helps if you're a frequent stayer at their chain too (I'm a huge fan of Marriot Rewards - dont' give Paris and Nicole anymore money!!!)
