Useing a Ski-boot dryer

Recommended Posts

I've always take the footbeds out of my skates, yet I'm haveing problems getting them completely dry, and therefor there is residue moistere in the buttom of my CCM 10.0's.

Started useing a regular electric skiboot dryer this week, and it really helps drying out the boot.

But have never heard anybody here on MSH advocat useing a skiboot dryer, only fans and other comodities bought/available from hockeystores.

Is it a good idea to keep on useing the electric skiboot dryer, or am I in some way destroying the matrial in the boot by exposing it to excess heat? (even though it's not exactly burning hot, quite the contrary)

It's ok to use it as long as the heat is not real hot. Most ski boot driers use radiant heat, so if it's not real hot, continue using it. Heat causes shrinkage, other than that no damage to glues if it's a low heat.

I use a dry guy boot dryer, but it blows warm or cool air into the toes.
