Looking for new gloves...

Recommended Posts

I'm looking to get some new gloves because my old Ferland 7500's have loosened up too much. They are annoying once they get sweaty because it feels as if there is too much palm there. I'm looking for a 13" glove that has a bit tighter fit in terms of width. I like the three named above but worry that the palms on the Vapors may wear quicker than the others. Anyone have any thoughts, opinions, or just something to say?

The Vapor XXX gloves are almost the exact opposite of a tight fit, if you really are considering Bauer gloves try, either the Vapor XX's or possibly look into the one90 series of gloves. As for Eagle I have no experience with them.

I guess I'm not necessarily looking for a tight fit as I am for a not floppy fit. The one90's felt great on my hand, but when i went to hold a stick, I didn't like the feel in the fingertips. Plus, I don't look their looks.

In my experience Eagles fit very loose. Too loose for my taste. I prefer the Vapor XX and XXX gloves. Tighter fitting but with good mobility. If your worried about the palms of the XXXs you could always go with with the XXs as they have a different(thicker) palm. The fit of the XXs and XXXs are very close. If anything the XXXs are tighter.

no... the xx is tighter

I'll have to disagree with you on that. At least for me, the XXXs fit tighter especially around the fingers. Of course I could just have weird hands

I just bought some new gloves and looked at the ones you mentioned, vapor XXX's are definatly more of a performance glove, the palms are thin so that you ahve a better feel of the stick, but the nice thing about the XXX's is that they come with a set of replacement palms.

Eagle is ad always has been an awesome glove company, the mustang and goat leather palms are super comfortable, the one drawback of eagle for me is the fingers don't have joints.

I recently bought the vapor XX's and am very happy with them it took a bit of an adjustment because the palms are pretty thick but now that I am used to it I am happy I nought them because they will last a lot longer than the XXX's, The XX's are really a great glove for the money A nice balance of performance and durability.

I have had the Vapor XXX's for about 7-8 months and the palms are in perfect shape. I've heard of a lot of people complaining about the palms but mine are holding very well...

I have some xxx's with the regular nash palm but just in the palm where my tape would wear on the palms is a piece of leather. i just went into my pro shop and asked if they could stitch it in. looks fine, almost like it belongs and feels like nothing is there.

i normally tear palms up but these have no sign of wear anywhere on the palms

just a thought

:)
