New Equipment

Recommended Posts

I'll be looking for new equipment soon, skates, stick, and shin pads, and have a couple questions. For skates, I've been in 703's for the past 2 seasons, and its time to retire them and look for a new pair. I'd love to go back to them, but the leather gets chewed up much too fast. I'm not a fan of the G series, and was wondering if the 705's are similar enough in fit to the 703's. I'd go custom, but I don't feel like waiting for months for the skates.

I'll be needing shin pads as well, and have noticed the RBK 6k's, and thought they were fairly nice. Does anyone have any opinions on them, or others for that matter? I'm trying to stay away from the bulkier ones, as I tuck them in my skates.

And lastly, I wanna try a Warrior because of the curves, lies, and flexes, but I'm a bit hesitant after my Inno shaft. I was wondering if the Warriors have the same torquing issues that the Inno's did. I had both an 1100 and Novius shaft, 300 flex, and noticed torquing on both when taking slap shots, and heavy snap shots. I love the whip, so I was looking at either 75 or 85 with the Warrior, but I'll scratch them off if they torque too.

Any input would be great.

Warrior lies are not what they claim to be in the catalog. They are all higher than what is listed.

is there still torquing issues, like inno had? that's my main concern.

for shin, you ''tuck them in your skate'' which mean your tongue is in front right? Well i do the samething and even if i have bul shin it still work well. I have the bauer Shift, they are between the 6000 and 8000 very good price awsome protection.

skate, i don't know anything about graf.

Thought so, because one of the curves I was looking at is listed as a 4, but matches up to a Sakic (5.5). Doesn't make much sense as to why to mis-label them this far off.

I've only taken a couple wristers with the new models but they seem to act similarly to the old ones.

there's been a lot of talk about warrior mislabeling lies, but I thought there isn't a universal method of determining lies, which means that lies are only relative to other lies in the same company's product.

(sorry to go off topic)

I have both 8K and 6K shins and am far happier with the 6K due to the reduction in weight as well as the "floating inner strap" technology that make you feel that you're hardly wearing a shinguard. I highly recommend it.
