twistoffate19 0 Report post Posted July 27, 2006 Hi. I'm in the market for a new bike, and at my local bike store they had a norco Katmandu. I got on it to see if it was the right height for me and it felt good. I was wondering if anyone on here had experience with Norco bike, or that specific model. For those who do know a lot about them, would that bike be good for me? I like to ride a balanced mix of asphalt tracks (speed), and a lot of up and down (with some small jumps) dirt trails. Thank you in advance.**This link is to the bike I am looking at purchasing**http://norco.com/ts/pass/templates/bike_mo...u&col=mattegrey

top 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2006 the katmandu's junk well depending on what kind of riding ur gonna do with it.. im the bike tech in my town.. and i see all bikes come in and all i see is norco recreationals come in for some reason.. we have devinci ironhorse k2 giant you name is we got it, in all makes and models.. i ride the karpiel armegedon and i havent had one problem for it since i got it 3 yrs ago but i dont think you wanna spend 7 grand on a bike lol.. but for a decent bike i would recomend the Norco rival cuz its the same type frame as the katmandu just beefier, front and rear 8" mechanical disc brakes Hayes MX2 or Avid ball bearing.. shimano deore rear change,r front alivio.. truvativ blade crank, kenda nevegal or blue groove tires.. double wall rims its really nice for 800$ CAD the rival will take more beeting then the katmandu same ride feel thow.. or the giant rincon very nice bike for the price not as good but more cross country ish .. for more info on bikes and tunability for your bike and just shoot a pm
