Top-12 Players By Position

While I don't really like Brodeur, all of us contradict our Kovalev raw ability and no production argument by saying Brodeur is not that good and was a product of a system. It's really not his fault that he was the beneficiary of an ideal situation for a goaltender.

Your list is fairly accurate I dont agree with alot of things but I cant get over the fact you say that brodeur is one of the top 5 goalies ever. I think there are many goalies who out play him while not having the amazing team he has had to play with. Look at luongo while he was playing with florida he got a TON of shots tooken at him and still kept his team in the game to be able to stop that many shots with no support is just amazing.

I would keep Brodeur at number 1, just because throughout his career, he has consistently put up fantastic numbers. All-defense or not, he still puts up fantastic numbers. Perhaps I would change the order a little to something like:

1. Brodeur

2. Kipper

3. Roberto Luongo

4. Marty Turco

5. Cam Ward (mainly on the fact he's a rookie)

6. Ilya Bryzgalov

I'd like to think my list is one of the most accurate so far. haha

Where is Lundqvist?

2 players made the Rangers what they were- Jagr and Lundqvist. If these lists are the product of last season, any of them is a sham that doesn't have Lundqvist in the top 5 of goaltenders..At the least.

I agree that those 2 made the Rags but you can't ignore what Tom Renney did.

theses lists are usually more of "who did I see more of on TV last year that I like" then who is the best player.

You leave players like St. Louis off the list but put crosby in the top 5 centers? come on. Chara? sure hes huge but he got exposed in the playoffs as too slow. two years ago he would have been a top 5 dman but not any more.

St. Louis did nothing compared to was Crosby did last year.

And Theo, I knew I was forgetting someone. To be a rookie and put up numbers like he did, and win a gold medal, hmm. My bad... <_<

St. Louis didn't have a good year at all last season. Crosby was incredibly hyped and came through with an extremely productive season in his rookie season. I'd take Crosby everyday of the week over Marty. As an 18 year old kid Crosby scored more points than St. Louis has ever scored in a single season.

Chara's been exposed many times over the past few years. People build up the NNHL like its revolutionary in exposing slow players. Look what Calgary did to Detroit a few before the lockout. Exposed their D with speed. It helps, but they still have a place. With the rules the way they are it's hard to control bigger players without holding onto them.

It's not his fault, but it does make it difficult to judge him.
