Ripped Vapor XXX eyelet

I had training camp this weekend and by the last two ice sessions my gear was drenched. When I'm getting undressed at the end of the last session I notice the problem with my eyelet, I assume it's from pulling while the skates were wet, but I want to know if there any way to repair this? The actual hole is stretched out and the eyelet is still in it. They're out of warranty BTW.

You could try tying your skates one eyelet lower, and using shin pad tape at the top of the boot. If you have a lot of forward flex in your stride, it will likely pop out soon. another idea would be to bring it to a shoe repair splace to see if they can put a new eyelet in, but it likely wont be able to go in the same place.

Does anyone know if there's a way to close the stretched part that'll be able to withstand playing?

you could possible have the shoe repair guy add some leather on the inside and outside of the skate before adding the eyelet to the original location, but this may not hold up all that long either.

Its actually pretty easy to fix. You just need the right shoe repair guy with a good sewing machine.

That camera of yours is seriously Kwality with a capital K. I have seen 3 pairs of Nike's where this has happend on the 4th or 5th eyelet from the top! I think they call it the Craption Flex System where it flexs and moves in the eyelet for maximum drive and force on your knees! ;)
