Foot pain

Recommended Posts

I've been wearing Vapor XX skates for 2 and a half years now and haven't had any problems whatsoever until earlier about in February or March this year and after skates I've got some pretty bad pain across the outer edge of my foot and have never had this problem with these skates. I've tried different ways to tie the laces and different footbeds. I went to try out some Grafs the other day and the shop guy said it's because the boot is breaking down and that Grafs will hold up so much better. Is he right? I'm now interested in getting a pair of 735s. Any thoughts? Suggestions?

you've been skating in the XX's for 2 1/2 years and he said the Graf's will hold up much better...sounds like your XX's did pretty good.

Might be time for new skates...if you were happy with the XX's get another set or maybe even XXX's. If you ever had the urge to change brands, nows the time. Try them all on and see what feels the best.

you got 2 1/2 years out of your XXs? Lucky. I've only had mine for 8 months and they're soft as heck now.... :(

I just picked up a pair of 735s two days ago. Skated on them for the first time last night with the cobra holders and was really on my toes. Im getting the tuuks put on today, but the boot felt great coming from the XXX.

Cool...

I'm thinking of putting tuuk litespeed2 holders on my 703's.

Thanks guys, you've been a great help. I think I've got my heart set on some 735s. I've tried on 1200Cs, 9ks, 8ks, Pro Tacks, XXXs and the only one that seems to fit the best is the 735s. I guess I'm going for them. Any touble on the cobra holders? The store I'm getting is offering to switch up to tuuk custom + for like 15 extra but I can get the skates a whole bunch cheaper from a buddy of mine. Not sure what to do at this point.

The boot went soft about a year ago, I just dealt with it.

well youd be getting new 735s that are properly fitted to your foot or a buddys who did nothing whatsover to properly fit you. also your lhs is willing to swap the holders for just 15 bucks thats a steal in its own man.

The question now is what holders should I get? Tuuk custom+ or stick with the cobras? The guy at the shop told me that cobras are pretty good. On my XX's I've had the pitch adjusted to a bit of a forward lean (was done on a CAG ONE machine). I've heard that the Cobras are already a bit towards a forward on your toes so I figure that I won't have to play around with that, however, if I do get custom+ on my skates, will I have to profile them to get them to match my XX's?

JR maybe you could help out on this one? I know you know this type of stuff inside out.
