I read that some of the old Innovative True1 sticks torqued much more than other sticks.

As well as the 1100, Novius, Warriors, etc.

for nearly all manufacturing of carbon fiber products the fibers are always crossing each other. when they make a sheet of carbon fiber there are essentially two directions that the fibers are running. saying that they move in wone direction is saying that there is one carbon fiber strand a couple of inches thick. many little strands in a crossing patern is much stronger then one solid piece is. further if you see vertical strands then you should also see the horizontal ones. if there were any serious deviation from that pattern as far as angle is concerned flex in all directions would change dramatically because the strenght in the "x" and "y" component would change very much so. In order for proper flex the stength in the x and y should be equal in their respective directions. buy turning either of the strands you would increase strenght in one and definetly loose strenght in the other direction. That is why sticks are normally are percieved with either 90 degree or 45 degree paterns
