Helmet For A Large Head

I wear a size 7 3/4 hat and am looking to replace a bauer 4000 helmet. do you think the ccm 852 or rbk 6k would work?

I had a hell of a time finding a helmet that would fit.

Itech XL is what I have now.

But I tried on the new mission intake large and on the biggest setting I fit it nicely.

ALSO

no bauer or CCM would fit my head.

The only CCM that would fit was the one that looks like a fish bowl for 25 buck at Can Tire would fit.

Thanks for the replies!  Maybe I'll just get another 690...the fit is great.  Any other recommendations for helmets with a similar fit?

I just bought a Bauer 8500/8000 in XL to replace my Jofa 690 L. Widthwise, it was the only "new" helmet that would fit me width-wise even though it feels slightly narrower than the Jofa at the length setting I have it on. The Bauer isn't as wide up front as the Jofa though. I'd say it's worth throwing it on next time you're at a store just to see how it fits you.

id say the mission intake helmet, its very wide fitting. not being racist but its our new asian people helmet for fit just because they do naturally have a wider fitting head

I could have sworn I tried on an Intake in L and it still wasn't wide enough. Strangely, I tried on what I thought was a M at another store and it seemed too big.

I wish hockey helmet makers took lessons from motorcycle helmet makers like Arai, now there's a brand of helmet that fits a rounder head (no surprise since they're Japanese). It's the temple area where I usually find it way too narrow on most (hockey) helmets.

It's been a few years since I've tried on motorcycle helmets, but if I remember correctly, Shoei fits narrow and long. If that's the case, try one of the Itech helmets maybe?

I personally wear a size 8 fitted hat and have had problems getting a helmet for years. I had been wearing a CCM 1052 in a size Large for a long time, and that was a huge bucket. That helmet lost its insides a couple months ago and after trying on everything possible I can tell you without doubt the NBH 4500 XL is the biggest volume helmet on the market. It opens up to a size 8 1/8, but feels even bigger than that. It's the first time I've ever reduced the size of a helmet. Good Luck!

Not to jack the thread by any means...

I have a Itech HC100, but I find it increasing is causing me more pain by squeezing the area just behind the ears (where the straps of a cage snap on).

As I am located in Hong Kong, can anyone let me know which helmets are larger in that area?

Rather than start a new thread, I decided to revive this thread.

I'm currently wearing a Bauer 4000 XL opened 2 notches with a large cage. It fits well, but doesn't hug my head very well, meaning it just doesn't feel like it wants to stay on.

I have long hair, so that might be hurting the fit a bit, letting the helmet come up easier.

I was wondering if a Jofa 390 would be a better fit, or if the helmet can even be opened that much.

Wow, that's a weird pic. I believe SC37 rocks a Jofa, you may want to PM him or he'll probably post in this about it.
