SyracuseBulldogs04 0 Report post Posted August 10, 2006 Ok, so i have a pair of 9k's in size 10 (my questions are length only). I'm just wondering would that mean idealy i would be in a size 10.5 vapor xxx and a size 11.0 in a vapor xx (this is length only). Now if i decide on the xxx's im definatley buying them at my LHS, the reason i ask the question on the xxx's is so that when i call them i can base what size i would need them to order for me if they dont have the size in stock ( I have to call because my LHS that i trust is probably like 30-40 minutes away). Now my question on the xx's is because my LHS doesnt stock those any more and the only place that I can find these is online. Does my sizing idea sound about right? SyracuseBulldogs04 0 Report post Posted August 10, 2006 Where is your toe in the 9K now and what width is the 9K? My toes are feathering the end a little in my left skate and almost the same in my right (left foot is a tad bigger). The width is a d. I think some would say that if your in a d in the rbk's it'd be different in vapors but the vapors boot shape fits my foot like a glove.
oldtrainerguy28 478 Report post Posted August 10, 2006 Personally i would start with a 10 XXX with superfeet and i think you will find it will be pretty close. The largest will be 10.5 d but I would also try a 10 EE just for the sake of trying......

The largest will be 10.5 d but I would also try a 10 EE just for the sake of trying...... Yeah, i'd most likely be going with a d width. Ive had both the xx's and the xxx's in the past but i didnt really know what size i would need in the xxx for sure because i kind of found out the hard way that you had to go down half a size. Idk if i would want to change insoles at all bc I really like the bauer ones and i just dont feel like experimenting anymore. I took a risk with the synergy's when they first came out and they chewed up my feet and then the 9k's and they didnt work out so great. I'm just going to stick with what works and most likely skate in vapors for a very long time. Thanks with all your help.
oldtrainerguy28 478 Report post Posted August 10, 2006 Anytime....but if they have those insoles all they do is support your foot like the old bauer 100 s the best selling skate for its time. The new insoles in almost all skates do nothing for you at all except keep your feet from getting cut by the rivets.

I actually think thats one of the reasons i like the feel of them, it makes me feel more responsive and get a better feel for the ice.

SyracuseBulldogs04 0 Report post Posted August 12, 2006 Another question I'm leading toward the xx's because I've had both and personally i cant tell much difference between the xx's and xxx's, the only thing to me would be the liner and the quarters of the xxx's feel more rigid. I'm just wondering like i said earlier no LHS's around here stock those so i'd probably buy them off of Hockey Monkey. They say that they dont accept returns on clearance or closeout items. Are the xx's closeout or clearance? I dont see anything on the page that would say they were they only say our price not like closeout price or anything...
