I wa on their myspace and they have a song called DETNOATION. I dont know much about metalica, but i know they also did a cover of master of puppets. Is DETONATION also a metalica cover? Iam asking this because his voice sounds a lot like metalica's singer, and with the new cd comming out, i would be kind of dissapointed because i love his screams/yells, ect...

Detonation is one of triviums new songs off of The Crusade, triviums singer matt sounds nothing like james hetfield of metallica. If you think Metallica and Trivium sound the same your not listening to the music. Trivium is heavier than Metallica, Metallica is a hard rock/Metal band where as Trivium is more of a Heavy Metal band. Metallica rocks \m/ (can't wait for the new album) and Trivium rocks too \m/

actually, I've been cracking on the new Trivium album for about 2 months now, saying "It's my favorite Metallica album"

Trivium's sound has changed quite a bit from "Ember To Inferno", to "Ascendancy" (this sounded like a Himsa ripoff) to "The Crusade" (which in my opinion, is the biggest old school Metallica ripoff I've heard).... singer/guitarist Matt Heafy even LOOKS just like Kirk Hammett now....

so if you're going to deny comparisons of "The Crusade" to old Metallica, I suggest checking out some pre-"Black Album" Metallica

Dude i have The Crusade. its awesome. I am a huge Trivium Fan and have all thier cds. Ember To Inferno is thier first, and Ascendancy is their second. They both have screaming and are both amazing, but i like Ascendancy better.

When Trivium did a cover of Master of Puppets for the Kerrang! Remaster cd, Matt Heafy really liked the singing and vocals. He decided he would use similar vocals, and no screaming.

On The Crusade, there is pretty much no screaming, except for about 30 seconds on the song "To The Rats"(great song). I thought i wouldnt like the "new" Trivium, but i really like them. If you think you should not get The Crusade becuase it has no screaming, get it becuase it is awesome.

I've never really been into metalica. I really liked trivium's last cd. Its not so much the music i dislike about what i've heard from the new cd, its the vocals. I think he sounds (or trys) to sound like kirk. I liked his old singing (and screaming) much more. Only 30 seconds of screaming on the whole cd? *sigh*

I'd say he sounds like a cross between earlier James Hetfield and Chuck Billy from Testament.

Nope. Just a couple songs and what other people tell me. I mite dl some more songs, but from what i hear i dont want to spend money on the cd yet.

They are extremely close to metallica besides the fact that they play in a lower tuning. The solo's sound incredibly similar.
