Skate Baking Instructions

Recommended Posts

Hi!

Does anyone has instructions for baking these? Do they exist? Just curious what the manufacturer says (temperature and time in the oven). Are RBK 9K bakeable indeed?

Has anyone done them at home? No LHS with an oven here.

Thanks

DO NOT heat them at home :) But yes there's instructions. You have to preheat the skate oven and let the skates in for about 4 minutes. After put them on and lace them thight. Stay seated for 5 five minutes and you can get up after, but do not walk and do not flex in them. There's also no problem heating the 9K's but do not inflate the pump during the process.

Thank you. Do those skates come with heating instructions? And yes, what temperature?

OK. Looks like I got them now:

Recommendations from a CCM guy on CCM forum:

225F for 4 mins.

Two Hockey Giant sales people said they have a chart from their CCM/RBK rep.

According to it it's 3 mins at 225F.

I did my Vector 10s for 3.5 mins at 180F (to be on the safe side). Came out nice. No FIT system. For a better mold I always use a heat gun (am very careful with it) and my fingers (in the arch area and other areas where there is a little space). Heat gun also allows me to get my heel fit snugger. I heat the heel part with the skates off and then mold it with my hands. It works great if you know how to do that.

On Vector 10s I didn't really have to do the heel. 185F and 3.5 mins. and putting the skates on was enough. I did the heel part anyway though. Having nice snug fit with no pressure points.
