Bent steel on Bauer

Has anyone had a problem with warped or bent steel on Bauers? My friend bought a new pair of Vapor VIII (Tuuk+) and the guy who sharpened them said the steel was bent. When I look down the edge of the blade it looks warped. Also, if a put a straight edge against it and hold it up to a light you can see the bend. Will this straighten out after he skates on them or should the steel be replaced?

Holder needs to be unmounted and realigned. Once that is done, it is a good idea to swap the steel as you'll never get the old steel as straight as a new pair.

That being said, if they are a new pair, go back to the store and return them.

That happens on about half of the mid-low end Vapors that I see.
