Problem with Dolomite OPS.

Recommended Posts

I have had my Dolomite since May now and over the summer I only must have used it 8 or 10 times. Now in the last month I have used it twice as much as that and I noticed a problem. The part on the stick where the blade and shaft is fused together has cracked all the way around and the blade is now loose. I can't really tell on wrist shots or passes, but when I wind up for a slap shot it feels like the blade is pulling out. Is there anything I could do to fix this, like heat the shaft up and pull the blade out and put it back in with more glue?

It happened with my inno stick I got last year, and yeah, I just reheated it. I don't even think I added glue. Mine cracked around the end of the shaft the first time I used it, but that was more cosmetic because it looked like they had a "seal" or something brushed over the whole stick that would obviously crack if the blade was seperate.

My friends dolomite did that, but it broke about 1 week later.

I would heat it up, take out the blade and put a strip of tape on the tenon and put it back in the shaft.

Alright I am now going to attempt reheating it. It really can't get messed up from this right?

***Alright the blade came out mad easy. I forgot its really a two piece stick. I just addsome glue and put it back in. I don't think tape would have worked, too thick.

is there any chance that you could take a picture of the fuse point where you just heated and pulled the blade out. As a reference for anyone trying to change a ops into a tapered shaft.

the fuse point sticks right out on the dolomite. there's a distinct line and you can see that the paint above the fuse point is kind of "dulled". you really can't miss it. It is just a touch higher than fuse points on other sticks.
