Penguins tickets.....

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone here knew what the best (or really good) places to get seats at the Mellon Arena are. I'm thinking about heading down to Pittsburgh for a weekend to catch a Leafs game and then tour FLW's Fallingwater in Bear Run the following day.

Also, if anyone knows, I'd like to know of any decently priced hotels in fair proximity to the arena

Thanks in advance for any help

P.S. sorry, I didn't really know where to put this topic

E16 and E32 used to be great deals with great views of the ice. With the netting above the glass it isn't as nice as it used to be and I haven't looked at the price in at least a year or two. Avoid the upper rows of the C end zones at all costs.

I actually do know something about Pittsburgh, despite what some people believe. B) They were some of the best seats I've ever had at a hockey game. You're really low for a balcony and if you're in some of the lower rows, there is noting blocking your view at all. You can see the strategy and developing plays so much better than sitting behind the bench.

The seats behind the bench used to be 4-5 times the price of the E seats, not sure anymore. The Marriot across the street isn't bad or the one down at the point, Hilton maybe? Just don't stay in Oakland

This hotel is cheap and 10-15 minutes away from the rink. The hotels in pittsburgh city are more expensive.

Hotel

Plus on the bright side, if you are bored there is a Really nice indoor roller and ice rink next to it. It is where the CCM phantoms play.

I used to stay on the other side of town on 22, some good deals to be found out by the airport too.

Is that in a decent part of town?

It's not really in town. Are you flying or where are you driving from? What are you looking for in a hotel? Stuff to do, cheap, ease of getting in/out?

I'll be driving from Ontario

I'm looking pretty much for a place to sleep really. We won't be spending any time in our room other than for sleeping. That Day's Inn will do just fine but seeing as I've never been through that area I don't want to be staying in a shady part of town.

Just don't stay in Oakland, but I dont think theres too many real hotels in oakland. Something to consider, maybe stay in a hotel thats outside of town, with so many big roads leading into pittsburgh, it may be a viable option to stay out of town and just drive in real quick.

I was working on a state project (dept of health?) and they put us up in Hamton Inns and yes, there is one in Oakland. Believe it or not, we heard a half dozen gunshots over the course of the evening.

Plan your route down and find a hotel close to that route. Getting a couple miles outside the city will make a huge difference if you plan on leaving during a peak traffic time.
