Bauer Supreme skate sizing

Recommended Posts

12D IS my dress shoe. In a Nike sneaker I wear a 13...

And yes, I wear a 9D Vapor XXX, a 9E Bauer Supreme 8000, an 8.5D CCM Vector 10, and a 9D One90. I have skated in all of them. I like the fit of the Vapor XXX and the Bauer 8000 the best. The One90 was like a custom fit right out of the box, but the epoxy issue turned me away.

I like my foot to be snug in the boot...I am not a "toe brushing the cap" fit. I like my big toe to press against the toebox of the skate without bending. This is one of those things about skates that have personally bothered me...very few people I know fit the stated shoe size rules published on skates. The only way to get a good fit is to first try it on in a store.....then buy it online if you must. Just don't buy a boot without first trying it on.

hmmmm...so now i'm actually a little more confused...

are you supposed to have a completely snug fit with your toe slightly touching the end of the boot (feathering the toe cap if you will)?

or are you supposed to have the skate a little bigger than your foot (where you can fit about a finger's width between your heel and heel of the skate)?

and if latter, is the proper way to you wear your skate to have your heel snug in the heel of your boot with the gap at your toes, or to have your foot completely at the end of the boot and leave the gap near your heel?

After a "real" fitting and some great recommendations here from OTG I got set up with some Suprememe 50's (w/superfeet grey footbeds). All this time I was a 9.5EE! Goes to show what a competent shop can do for you.

Thats great to hear hope you skate in them as well as they fit!

If your not growing you dont need any room at all you should be touching at the heel and scraping the toe when standing straight up. If you bend your knees your toes should come off the front!
