removing logos

a buddy of mine has been trying to take the logos off his eagle gloves...i don't know why....but he is. is there any "standard" way to do this? i searched but couldn't find any great ideas. if any of you guys have done this or heard how to do it id appreciate the help. thanks in advance.

A kid on my team last year used leather dye, and it worked pretty well to cover up the logos, but not remove them.

If I remember correctly nail polish remover will remove the painted on lettering.
