That might no be the best trade in years, but Montreal needed a d-man. I would've like to see what Ribs could have given us this year, but I'm not disapointed in losing him. Niinimaa is a good addition to the D and can put up some good numbers on the PP.

I guess only time will tell who the nest part of the trade.

A chance Bob got Samsonov and Kovalev so I can forgive him a bit. But a bad trade IMO, espescially since Kovalev said he really like to play with Ribeiro.

2 points for Samsonov and Kovalev tonight. But Pleckanek is not a 2nd line player at all. I would have like to se Ribeiro, Kovalev and Samsonov on the same line this season. At least, we will have Samsonov and Kovalev together.

The thing is Ribeiro was my first favorite player way back when I was younger. Now, he's far from my favorite player but he's still a player I like. I had good memories from him in midget AAA, in the Q and when he finished first scorer of the Canadiens 3 years ago. So, it's why I'm gonna stay with Ribs.

No, I was like 10 when played AAA. But I always asking my dad to go see him play when he was coming in Sherbrooke. He was so dominant at that time, it was scary.

And in the Q, I remember his 67 goals, 100 assists season, it was phenomenal to see him play.

I think a seond Finn on the team will be good for Koivu, and having a guy like Koivu will be good for Janne.

having koivu as a finn wont do much for ninnimaa. there were 4 or 5 other finns on dallas, and look how that ended.

This is the first time Mike Ribiero trained seriously in the off-season.

I saw him during the summer and he looked like a better skater to me.

But even before exhibition games...,he, Kovy and Samsonov didn't produce as expected during inter-squad games.

I still don't think I would have traded him.
