school rinks

Recommended Posts

My university here in Moncton has a rink of about 2000 seats. Badly maintained but I think it was build sometime in the 60 or 70's. My home town is trying to build a new rink right now between the university campus and high school (both will be linked by an indoor stadium and a 3500 seat arena), a huge project of about 31 millions. Hit it up, it's worth the view www.notrecentremulti.com

Why they tore down the Forum before they had a new arena is beyond me. You guys must be optimistic, we've been waiting for years to get a new one with two ice surfaces and still can't get anything.

Because they received a really good offer to buy the land of the old Forum. The thing with the arena in Grand Falls is that they don't want to close it, they apparently want to make some renovations and it would be good with galas and stuff. We still have the arena in St-Jacques and St-Basile who are occupied full time right now. If everything goes well we could be stuck with a maximum of 3 years with only 2 arenas. Plus they have the whole thing planned out, like Grand Falls they are just waiting for the provincial and federal funding. You guys might be in front right now because you guys voted Liberal in the last election and they are now in so. But the Edmundston mayor is a very good lobyist. Like GF we are also booming lately so if fverything goes well I think we both might get out new arenas, us with a Q team and you guys with a Junior A team that would be our farm team ;). It's a long term vision thought, probably in the next 10 years.

my school has our home rink connected to our school, and another rink at the comm. center across the street.

most of the schools in our confrence either have their rinks attached, or down the road a little bit.

I graduated UCSB, and they built an NHL sized roller hockey rink on campus, in the recreational center complex next to the weight room and climbing wall. It also has basketball nets ande the boards behind the goals fold back into indoor soccer goals. It's beautiful.

If you want to play college roller, go to UCSB. The guys in the program drink a bit too much to get in prime shape to play, but its fun to play for free whenever the rink is open besides practice and intramurals, and its 5 minutes by bike from Isla Vista where most kids live.

California is the biggest roller state in the nation isn't it? Must be pretty good to play for them.
