What's with Buffalo going full tilt and rubbing in the victory? Running Foppa when it's 9-1? Dancing around on the 9th goal? I honestly hope Hatcher grabs one of these small forwards and just kills'em. Catch'em on a dangle with a vicious elbow or something. Like I said last week though, this isn't the Philly of old. They don't scare anyone at all.

Yup, and then why not take out someones knee while you are at it? I mean it's the NHL, they play for keeps right? You are out of this game, why not blow out Afi's knee, Briere's ankle and Drury's wrist? It makes sense doesn't it? I mean get a bum to do it so the suspension really doesn't mean anything.

If they scored, kept their head down, went to the bench it wouldn't be as bad. Jumping around after the goals, trying to dangle everyone on each shift. This is why Buffalo is a classless team. Hell of a hockey team, can play with anyone, but very little class.

The only reason Esche was left in is because of what was said about Hitchcock yesterday/today. Only reason. Hitchcock's doing this purposely. Esche wants to be a number one and play all the time? There ya go buddy.

Dump and chase, work the puck around, Drive wide, etc.. You can play hard without making the other team look stupid. Is it really needed for Afiniganov to take the puck and try to dangle everyone? Is it necessary for Peters to take a late run at Foppa when the score is 6-0? Is it necessary for Vanek to be pumping his arms for the 9th goal of the game?

How do any of these things help them at all? Anything they gain now, they'll lose in respect around the league, but they didn't have a ton anyways. It's surprising to see a team which was so bad for so long be so cocky, so quickly.

It's one thing to randomly brawl because your losing ALA Atlanta, it's another to have your face rubbed in a big loss knowing that these guys are purposely stepping on your throat just for the hell of it.

You haven't talked about any of the issues really. As for the Fans, the power would likely mean less people are watching than normal. Wake up call or not it was a joke. You can play good hockey without running up the score. Buffalo opted to go full throttle and I expect someone will straighten them out a bit down the line. Philly was low class, and lucky for Buffalo they've dumped alot of their idiots or else tonight's 3rd period would've been much more fun to watch.

Doesn't make it right. I personally think they would to be honest for a few reasons. 1 being they aren't skilled enough to dominate like Buffalo was. Another being the depth on the teams. Neither of these are really "Classy" teams in my eyes (for the record I don't consider the Leafs one either), but the extra crap wasn't needed and was a joke. Honestly, late hits on Foppa? Running Forsberg without the puck is hard work? How about Afiniganov jumping around after his goal to make it 6-0? That wasn't nearly as good as Vanek who made it all complete by scoring the 9th goal of the game.

I wouldn't walk up to a man on the street with a gun and start making fun of him. I wouldn't slap a team with some dangerous players in the face either. Buffalo escaped tonight without any injuries. If this is the old Philly or a team who has a lunatic or two (not sure why Hatcher didnt' step up), it could've been much worse.

And you are right, it is alot easier. It's also alot easier to put your head down and skate to the bench rather than jump around like an idiot. I wonder how you'd feel had this been the Rags and Crosby jumping around after the 9th goal.

No face-offs during the game Theo? Hatcher never pinned anyone up against the boards? There were chances, for whatever reason he didn't want to do anything. Most players are against cheap shots for losing, but most players are also against running up the score and jumping around. 2 Wrong's make it all right in my eyes for this situations. They didn't get the message when the Sabres scored 5 goals in 1 period and had a 5-0 lead? Those last few goals were really necessary?

Your point is basically that Buffalo didn't do anything wrong, when I clearly believe they did. That Philly will be woken up by this, when it happened in last years playoffs as well, and Philly has 1 win this far. They should've realized they are playing like crap much earlier than this, and they likely realized it after the 5th goal.

These guys will play again, and sending a message by a fight, or dirty play would make Buffalo think twice next time they get up by a goal or two.

well this is just my hypothetically speaking here.... because my initial reaction was Forsberg went down a little too easy. But, I caught the tail-end of it.. so that's just my inital reaction. I could be wrong...

I totally hear you, Philly has had their moments. Plus, some of the the Sabres/Flyers series have gotten a little ugly in seasons past... so I'm assuming some of the ill-will carries over.
