Safe to assume that Ted Nolan is not

Yashin was icing his hand in the box after Crosby nailed him with a slash that went uncalled. The hook followed right after.

"I think for a world class player, for a guy of his caliber, he's diving every time someone touches him," Islanders coach Ted Nolan said. "No question in my mind, he should have been called for a slash before Yashin had a chance to hook him.

"I'm not saying Yashin's wasn't a penalty, I'm just saying there should have been a penalty before. If Yashin maybe acted like Crosby and dove, maybe he would have gotten that call."

Well, I believe you are an Islander fan...I watched the game and that was a world class slash on Cashin from Crosby, alright.

I'm a caps fan, didn't see the game at all, so didn't see the hook or slash

I did however see the caps go 2 goals down, come back to go 3-2 up, blow the lead in the last minute and lose in the shootout

I was actually just about to post this, since I remember lots of people on here calling Crosby a diver. It was a really bad slash, which also caused a turnover (which is why yashin hooked him). Yashins hook was also one handed as he couldn't even grip his stick with his bottom hand. More from the newsday article:

Mike Dunham: "It's real tough when the referee gives them kid-glove treatment and doesn't let them get touched,"

"For a world-class player of his caliber to keep diving every time somebody touches him . . . ," Nolan said with a shake of his head. "The refs said they're going to call it on people who dive. I guess they missed his diving."

Its nothing new... Crosby has been a diver his entire short NHL career. He was called for a diving minor last year against the Thrashers, I beleive.

Whenever I watch him along the boards and in the corners he's whipping his head back when a player raises their gloves as though Mike Tyson just took a swipe at him. Part of me can't blame him for the embellishment since he's got all the zebras looking his way but none of us wants NBA-esque flagrant acting in our game.

I don't think he's a diver. I am a Pens fan but the last couple games where his head is getting slammed into the boards I see he is really getting slammed. Maybe that's just me.

Considering how many people around the league don't like him, it's just you. Where there's smoke there's fire.

So are you saying you do think he dives?

He dives, there is no "thinking" about it. Either he dives or he is a subpar skater, take your pick.

How much of the penalties he draws do you think he dives on. Like tripping because there's quite a few hooks where he still drives to the net without pause.

Here's an article from LAST YEAR on his diving exploits:

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/writ....nhl/index.html

That guy sounds like a Crosby fan. Kind of unfair the guy probably disliked him before writing that now he just hates him even more. But whatever.

Why is it anything that isn't ass-kissingly positive has to have been written by someone who hates him? Grow up and realize that the guy you idolize isn't an angel. It doesn't mean he isn't talented or that you have to hate him. Just accept the fact that other people have some valid criticisms of his behavior. Even those who do actually hate him (if those people actually exist) will admit that he's one hell of a player.
