I am working on an essay and I want to put my last name up in the area that the page number is. I'll need both the page number and my last name. Does anyone else know how to do this? I've seen it done, but have never done it myself.

Yeah, I just do it manually at the end of my other formatting. However, I doubt you want the same placement as me - upper right corner.

Easy - what you want is to stick it in the header so it repeats on every page?

If so, drop down menu "view" and select header&footer.

You can put your name anywhere - you'll probably want it in the extreme left with page # on the extreme right.

Is this the info you are looking for?

Got another one. I am in the middle of writing my essay, and for whatever reason the synonym feature isn't working when I right click on a word. It does when I start up a new document, but when I copy the essay into a this new document it doesn't work. Any suggestions?

try SpellChecking your document/page and either fix each item or Ignore it. You should then have the Synonym in the right click context menu.

Hope this works.
