how to make a 2 piece of a XXX Lite?

Hi! I have a problem with a XXX Lite broken stick. I want to put a blade in it ,but i have no idea where to cut it and what blade should i buy. Any suggestions?

Depends where it broke. On the blade you can possibly cut where the taper is and fit a tapered in there or cut higher and use a standard blade.

On the shaft up higher you may only get a standard in there if anything.

We tried this last night with a broken xxxlite that a teammate broke.

If you flip the stick, it works fine for standard blades. We tried to cut to make it a tapered shaft, but the shaft is too round on the inside. We couldn't get any of the 3 blades we had to fit into it. We shaved off a few MM at a time until one would fit, but the blade was so unstable that it wasn't even worth testing on ice.

Mine broke right above the blade at the thinnest part of the taper. I took it to my LHS and they cut it a few inches above that and got a synthesis II blade in there. I had to buy an end plug to make up the difference.

I would think that flipping it might not be very effective as it would mess up the whole kick-point action

Flipping it is a last option as a back up stick or just a stick to beat around with. If you use that as your main stick you might as well be using a boat oar. No performance whatsoever.

i flipped an sl and i thought it was fine for shooting and it wasn't that bad but i couldn't catch a pass at all, the puck would bounce out like 4 feet in front of me all the time.

I converted a XXX lite into a taper shaft. I was using a synergy 2 blade in it until it broke. All i did was start cutting low and kept moving up until the blade fit.

I cant remember exactly I think i cut it around the middle of where it said monocomp. I tried to check but when my synergy 2 blade broke i just flipped it and stuck a standard blade in it and now my friends using it. Hes taller than i am so he didnt have to cut any more off it.

First of all, thanks for the advices, i would flip it, just the end of the shaft is so thick that i cant put a end plug neither a blade in it. If someone could tell me where to cut it exactly ? THX
