Help with my new/last pair of skates.

Recommended Posts

Ok a little bit of background info. Im playing in my 2nd year of midget right now. I play AA and am on the ice around 5-6 times a week. Right now im in graf 705's with tuuk custom plus holders (i hated cobras). There size 10.5 or 11 i cant see the size anywhere. Anyways they are holding up amazingly well with no break down or anything like that. the only problem is that i find them WAY to heavy. Its like cement blocks on my feet. *Also my right foot is 3/4 size bigger than my left. right measured at 11 and right was a little over ten. i think i remebered correctly.

So im looking for something that will replace these and be lighter. My feet just fel dead after im done and its getting annoying. Now i dont want another pair that will be gone 6 months from now like my vapor XX's. I want this next pair to last at least this year and the next.

I went into my LHS and tried on size 10.5 synergy 1500c's. They were to narrow and im unsure of the width. I went on to a pair of size 10 rbk 9k pumps. my heel was lifting in those and it was just a terrible feeling. Onto the vector 10.0. they felt quite decent and were the best option so far but ive never really been a fan of the whole ccm thing. i tried size 10 one 90's and they were excellent. grabbed my heel nicely in the back and it was hella light.

Now my question is what would you guys reccomend for me? Ive heard stories that one90s are done after 5 months. is this true?

thanks alot guys.

Derek

how much are you willing to spend on your next pair of skates?

from the info you have provideed i would go with custom skates, due to the weird fit in other brands and the foot size difference.

yes there are kor at my lhs. i didnt even think to try those on.

any newer model skate you can think of (besides 8090) is at my shop.

and also i dont know if it was from improper baking. i just saw a pair a guy brought in. he said he played 3 months on them and this is what happened. they were shredded and so weak it was unbelievable.

i dont think i can afford the custom route. i can get a deal since i work at a different hockey shop. wed have to order the skates in because we only carry lower end models like 5k pumps and vector 6.0's.

I have the same problem, my right foot is about 1/2 a size bigger than my left. Is custom the only way to go? Can I ask a company to sell me like different sizes skates?
