Salo out, Edler in

Recommended Posts

I want Bourdon out, but Edler in even if Salo comes back.

why would you want bourdon out when right now fitzpatrick is clearly the weakest link? 4 of the goals against in minnesota were pretty much his fault

I was hoping that they would bring up Patrick Colome (not sure of spelling), he can skate and contribute offensively.

he's doing terrible on the moose so thats why they chose Edler

Agreed 100%. Fitzpatrick's got good wheels, and decent size, his only fault is his complete failure to understand how to play in his zone.

right now, scratching fitzpatrick and keeping edler up and bourdon looks really good

he's doing terrible right now

I agree, scratch Fitzpatrick, he takes a lot of stupid penalties, doesnt know what he is doing in in his own end, he wins the Canucks super skills accuracy event hitting 4/5 but somehow he can't manage to get the puck on net in a game. On the plus side, I think Edler had a good game tonight, hopefully he will give Fitzpatrick a run for his spot in the lineup

I think Fitz and his linemate, not sure who, maybe Bourdon, were on the ice for at least 2 of the goals. Please excuse my last comment about Salo being a detriment...Fitz is the detriment.

I did like Edler's game though. He looked poised, didn't make blaring mistakes.

Yeah you are right on the account of Fitz and his linemate (Bourdon or whoever) being on the ice for a few goals against. I can't help but think that maybe Vigneault should be pairing Bourdon with a better D-man, just to put him in a situation where he can have success, who knows, maybe there wasn't an opportunity to do so

pairings were

Ohlund - Edler

Fitzpatrick - Krajicek

Bieksa - Bourdon

putting a joke of a defenseman with an offensive d-man like Krajicek is not a good idea

Wow, I never expected to see a thorough thread about a #5-#6 dman.

Who's the 5 and 6 Dman you're referring to? Most of Vancouver's D, besides Ohlund, are 5 and 6 guys!

Lets give Krajicek the benefit of the doubt here, he isn't 5/6th D-man material and he certainly is not playing down to that level. I have been to 3 games so far this year and he doesn't look out of place going against some of the better forwards in the league. As for everyone else, yeah, you're right :(
