That is sweet. Another thing my friend does is build coffee tables from broken hockey sticks.

I have a couple of different hockey stick chairs. If anyone is interested I can take a picture.

A family friend used to grab the broken all-wood sticks (no fibreglass) from local arenas and run them through his planer to get a nice bit of hickory or ash. He made all kinds of neat stuff out of them.

My friend did the same, and even made a little lip around the edge and had some thick glass cut to insert on top. It was really nice!
