just hoping someone else out there has a pair and can give me some insight as to how bulky they are.. for instance compaired to ccm 852's

Way less bulky than 852's.

Can't compare them to the CCMs...no experience with them. But the 5ks arn't bulky in my opinion...only part where you might have problems is the bicep protector which extends down a little bit to cover your elbow joint when you straighten your arm.

I just got a pair the other day, played in 3 games with them. Coming from my Franklins, they were more bulky for sure. But after playing in them for a bit, I like them. I could see if you don't get the right size where they might be cumbersome. I bought a size 5 and they fit snug and feel pretty good. If need a better description, let me know.
