Recommended Posts

On the C width is the heel the same as the D: a ''A'' width or it is an AA

Thanks!

P.S: All you 9k user, how do you feel the boot cut. some one on my team told me it feel high cut but you guys keeps saying mid cut and some other say low.. i'm a bit confused

Man i really like my 9k's, they are 10 AA Prostock Jason Weimer skates (d width). I would say comin from eastons, 9k's are a mid to low cut. Bauer's like 8000's, XXX, are a deep fitting boot.

the C width on the rbks is just a C width, there not bad of a boot I prefer them over the vapors though

You missed the question. Is the heel a standard A heel or is it narrower and therefore an AA heel?

The width of any skate starts from the heel and through the length of the boot, the width isn't just the forefoot, so the C width would be narrower than a D width. I have a pair of 9k's, C width, and the heel feels narrower and appears to be narrower than the D width.

Thanks, the thing is that i can't find a pair of c in my size so i cant compare at the store. the D felt right but my problem is that i have narrow heel/ankle and large foot. but the D is right so maybe the c would be good also!

Well get the skate with proper heel, that is most important. Your pro shop should be able to bump out the forefoot for you. But proper heel lock is key, you should have very little to no movement in the heel of your skate.

i know and this is what i realise! But since 2 years now, i got used to skate with space around my ankle and i had to lift my tongue to the left every shift to fill the gap!

I'm using the Pro Tacks in a C width. They're not custom and have the standard retail A width for the heel cup. I.e C/A.

To get the narrower heel cup C/AA you have to go custom.

I'd love to get my hands on the 9k:s in the c width, but it seems every LHS and retail store stock the D and E widths only. I've really been searching but haven't found the C width anywere, except for Hockey Monkey that has a few small C sizes and I would need about a 10C...

Yep, stock RBK/CCM skates in a C width come with an A heel (same heel width that skates in a D width have.) IMO this is not very logical if skates in an E width come with a B heel. My guess is that RBK/CCM have some reason behind the way this is.

On RBK 9K Pumps you have the pump though. Should be helping to lock your heel well.

Yeah, most dealers won't stock skates in a C width and won't even special order them for you (not to confuse with custom order). Call up LArry's Sports Shop. Look their number up at www.myhockeystore.com.

Ask for Danny Luongo. He will order them for and you'll get them pretty quick if RBK/CCM has them. And huggle with him for the price too. He got me two pairs in a C width at a price lower that most dealers have for skates they have in stock. I would also talk to the ePuck guy.
