graf skates sizing

Recommended Posts

Can any one explain to me how the grafs skates run... I know they have a model for each foot type and stuff but how does it go. Also are graf skates usually heavy.

I can only tell you based on my son's sizing. He wears a 13-131/2 EE shoe, but an 11 regular width Graf Ultra G5 and G9.The Ultra G5s are very light, the G9's are very heavy.Generally, with the exceptipon of the new G5 Ultra, graf is not the lightest skate. You really need to try on several pairto find the best size/model for you.

What is the weight difference between the 705s and Bauer Vapor XXX, is it really that much?

People say heavy like you're skating with buckets of concrete on your feet.

They weigh slightly less (by holding them and sensing) than my Bauer 2000's from 1991, and I never had a problem with those. I think its more mental than anything, for instance coming from something that is lighter.

As for the numbering, as the numbers get greater, generally speaking, the width gets greater.

It's more than just the width getting greater with the numbers, but that's not a bad observation. The 9 series is also very deep.

As far as weight goes, the traditional 7xx grafs are going to be heavier as they are traditional boots made with (mostly) traditional materials. Vapor skates (and most other skates from other manufacturers) are made with different polymers and synthetics that are designed for lighter weight.

Graf's skates are all about the proper fit and function for your foot and play style, and have been made that way for years.

Other manufacturers fill their skates with all kinds of features and technology that changes from year to year. In a way it's gimmicky to seel their skates, but there's also a lot of really great features on skates today.

Coming from your old bauers you shouldn't have any issues with weight in a graf. When those were made, everything was heavy.

the G Series is made with newer and synthetic materials and generally are lighter and stiffer than the 7 series.

It is lighter but nothing to go crazy over. The 705 is a much tuffer skater than the G5. A custom 705 with a carbon sole would be ideal. I've seen some Pro's with these.

so the number on a graf skate isn't based on quality like all of the other skate manufacturers, but rather it is just the size of the skate?

The last two numbers are based on foot dimensions. The first number is based on quality. Ultra Gx and 700 series being pro level/quality skates and the 500 & 300 mid/entry level skates.

Yes and yes...the "ultra" G skates are apparently going to be replacing the current "supra" G skates, but they are both pro level skates, as well as the light/composite skates in the graf line. All I'm trying to find out is when the ultra G3s are coming out...

Do you wear supra g3's ...how do they fit...I am looking at graf skates too...I have a wide foot so I don't know what boot that would be...Also is the g9's really heavy like some have said?'

thanks

grafs are great for a wide foot and some models for a thick foot or a high arched foot.G9s are a very comfortable, durable skate, deep and wide.Yes, they are heavy. The clarino liner seems to stay wet a long time.I started using a fan near my son's skates and it helped dry them more quickly.

No, I am trying to wait for the ultra G3s to come out before I buy them...I really need new skates though, and hopefully that time will come soon. I would recommend going to www.grafcanada.com, and looking up your closest retailer. Have them size you, and then find out which skate you will need.

I was measured yesterday, and was "off the chart" in width, but the front of my foot is quite a bit wider than the back of my foot. So I need a wide skate in the 703/G3 fit. I also tried on bauer, which killed my foot, as I was smashed in there width-wise. CCM fits my foot pretty well, except for the back part of my foot being slightly wobbly in the skate, because of how my foot size is. For this reason, I decided Graf would be the best way to go.

if your foot is wider in front and narrow at the heel, try the 735. as far as length goes, my 11 graf fits like a 10.5-10.75 ccm. hope this helps.
