quickness

The new games all about speed and quickness....can anyone give me some info of how to get quicker and faster. I am about 8 months post operation on a right A.C.L sergury which hindered me and I am looking for some advice on how to get my quick step and speed back. Any drills, exercises or tips would be helpful. Also I am 16 ...5'7" and 160 pounds. I have some pudge I could get rid of if that would help not that much though.

even those it does not exactly have to do with the topic i feel the need to say this. yes with the new rules you have to be quicker but since there is no hooking or holding anymore the big d or forward who can skate up the boards has the advantage because all you can do it try to knock them off the puck. with the midget aaa team in my city i noticed they picked medium sized kids on d who are just getting tuned and the team went from going to the provincal final 2 years in a row to being at the basement of the league because they thought u did not have to be big anymore. and to do with drills to alot of ladder drills to develop quick feet.

I did the hardest drill that we do at all last night. Its a quick feet drill. Start on the goal line. Skate to the first dot. Stop. Go back to goal line. Go to next dot, stop, skate back to the dot inside the circle. Skate up to the far dot, stop, back to the lower dot. Skate to the far zone dot inside the circle. stop, back to neutral zone dot. etc. All the way around the rink. It sucks balls, very tiring. Worse then mountains or ladders by far.

it's called the dreaded dots. My team had to do it in bantam when we only beat the worst team in the league 7-5 and at the end of the game had like 2 people on the bench.i think i got a 3 game suspensino that game for hacking off a buddies hip almost.
