Higher or lower blade lie?

Ive always used cheapo replacement blades for my shafts. I liked the Bauer P88 the most, pretty sure it was just a mid-curve with a 5 lie. My LHS stopped carrying them and I started using an Yzerman Easton Pro (P1) 15 mm / Lie 6.

My major problem is in my slapshot and puck handling, im constantly skipping over the puck and when I take a slapshot im hitting the toe of my blade. I don't have a perfect shot by any means but with the P88 almost all of the blade was on the ice while I was puckhandling/shooting..

Do I need a lower lie?

Bauer = P88 (Lindros)

TPS = Messier

Easton = I just get pro stocks

Mission = Elias

Sherwood = Lafuer (or something that is spelled like that)

I think those are all the closest to your P88

Take a look at the Yzerman; is the heel area really worn away more than the rest of blade? If answer yes, then you need a lower lie. Welcome to my sub-5.5 world.

P88 isn't a 5 but the big rocker helps make up for it being a higher lie. Some of the woodies have less of a rocker but it is still larger than the Yzerman.

If you are hitting the toe of you blade on the ice when you take a slapper, that would indicate that you need a higher lie. Or, you are hitting the toe because you are used to the thinner toe on the P88 that is also a product of the rocker. Try using a Sakic as that has a more similar profile to the P88 and it should help make up for your technique problems.
