I don't understand what I'm reading.............

Guys,

I'm not trying to be a wise guy here but I have to say reading these posts have probably saved me money over the past couple of months. I have been playing hockey (ice and roller)on and off for many years and have had several pairs of skates. I had almost talked myself into buying a new pair of what I would call high dollar roller hockey skates but after reading all of the stories about broken chassis, boots that break down prematurely and skates that just plain hurt your feet I will stay with my good old CCM skates and my Sure-Grip, Labeda and Red Star chassis. I do plan to give the Sprung chassis a try but I guess if you find something you like stick with it.

I guess I am just sold on using a good quality after market chassis on a proven boot that fits you well. I have had 0 problems with these type of skates.

That's what this site is about. Sharing of knowledge and opinions. I use this site before buying anything hockey these days. It's a great resource for seeing what's out there, what's good and bad, pricing, opinions, etc.

I was using ice boots and custom chassis mounts myself for a couple of years, but that was because I wasn't happy with some of the products out there. Tour had the G series which I didn't like and Mission had the DNA system which just didn't suit me. I like a high end boot and none of the high boots from any company impressed me. However, I've been happy with the past year or so in offerings. I've used a bunch of different boots and have been relatively happy with them.

I know how hard it is to turn away from Ol' Faithful equipment, but don't shy away from some of the new stuff out there. Of course, in the end, it's up to you.

#96,you hit it right. of course there is always a difference in opinion with hockey equipment. but at some point we all have to buy new equipment sooner or later.this site is excellent for hockey equipment views, opinions, and conversation,we all share a passion for the game.also #96 i did like the DNA concept, the boot lace system wrapped around my foot better than any most boots out there.(for me)

I have wide feet so I never felt like the DNA strands were pulling tight enough and giving the support I needed. But I've heard lots of people that liked them. An interesting idea to say the least and I like that Mission is always willing to adapt to new ideas.
