ThePurpleCobra 0 Report post Posted December 24, 2006 I was wondering how hard it is to replace tongues on skates? Is it a job I could handle?
BK 0 Report post Posted December 24, 2006 I had a custom tounge put on my Salmings. I had it done at my lhs. It didn't look too hard (just a sewing machine), but I didn't have to have my old one removed.. I just added more fleece.
Sven 1 Report post Posted December 24, 2006 Dont think so. Someone on here (a normal user, not a mod) did it on his own.
Miike 1 Report post Posted December 24, 2006 Whbd18 replaced his own if you want to ask him.
RadioGaGa 162 Report post Posted December 24, 2006 I'm pretty sure you need a pretty heavy duty sewing machine to do it. Mom's Singer won't go through the leather.
ktang 34 Report post Posted December 24, 2006 I did it by hand, but I used a sewing machine needle. Poke the needle through from the bottom, pass the top thread through the loop, pull it down, and poke it through at the next spot.
Eazy_b97 1 Report post Posted December 24, 2006 Buzz did it. Maybe a Leather smith is the person to ask or take it to?
Miike 1 Report post Posted December 25, 2006 If you had a regular tongue (ex/ the regular black ones), could you sew like white felt on to it so it brings the effect you have a white felt tongue?
