Skates and Heel Pain

What brands of skates are better for heel cushion and arch support? Do any of you use insoles in your skates to make them more comfortable? If so what brands of insoles have worked well?

I don't really know what I'm talking about, besides what's happened with me, so here's my story, but don't necisarily take it as advice.

For the past 4 years or so, my skates have always killed on the arch of my foot. (Vapor XX, Nike V12, 8090) Well during this fall I got a pair of superfeet insoles, and things got a bunch better, but I still had some pain. 2 days ago I baked my new XXX with the superfeet in, and skated yesterday with no pain at all in my foot. It was quite amazing for me, especially since the XXX were skating so well too! I think I'm flatfooted, so it might be something to try if you are flatfooted.

I have no idea about heel cushon though. Are you getting blisters?

The XX felt comfortable until I actually took it out on the ice. I had been in the older line of vapors before, and maybe I never knew they didn't fit me right.... The V12's felt good and fit well so I wore them, same thing with the 8090 and XXX. I guess it helps that you bake em!

When i was in this "find your skate" situation, i also tried out XX and they were fine in the store and in the locker room but when i skated some laps, after 10 mins or so i noticed that the were not built for me. Im so lucky bauer gave me/us the 8090, hehe.
