just from hearing what skates were involved, it doesn't seem like the chassis would be too small. could you post some pics and give some more info on why you think the chassis is too small? Do they not seem stable or something when you skate on them?

nils,

yeah that chassis definitely looks small on those boots. so are you saying that premature breakdown on the boot is resulting from this? is it because of lack of underlying (chassis) support on the outsole and its causing flex or play between the outsole and the toe cap and seperation of the two as a result? or are you saying the toebox is getting worn away because it is taking hits (from the boards, others players etc.) that would usually be absorbed by the chassis/wheels if the chassis was longer and stuck out more?

i know people that use a smaller than recommended chassis because they like the added manueverability, but if this setup is causing your boots to break down prematurely i would get a larger chassis for sure.

okay thanks for your help :) but give it chassies in XL or ??? what for a size if i need ???

i don't think i've seen a chassis in a size bigger than Large anywhere. A killer deal on the Sherwood versions of the E-frame are at Hockeygiant as discussed in this thread: http://www.modsquadhockey.com/forums/index...showtopic=27297

here's the link to the actual chassis deal: http://www.hockeygiant.com/sherefrm.html

that frame in size large is claimed to be for boot sizes 10-12.

you're from Germany, right? even with the international shipping/duties, $4.99 US for a solid quality frame should still end up being an awesome deal.

Yes i came from Germany :) but by hockeygiant stand size 6 is that the foot size ???

Nah, thats just referring to the chassis size itself. The Sherwood frames were numbered 4-6 (not sure why).

Size 4 (Small) Fits boot sizes 5.5 - 7.5

Size 5 (Medium) Fits boot sizes 8 - 9.5

Size 6 (Large) Fits boot sizes 10 - 12

yah, most of the companies that make/made an aftermarket skate chassis go by the Canadian shoe/boot sizing method. Mission is pretty much the exception and not the rule so you have to be more careful in instances where you're mounting an aftermarket frame to a mission boot. In my experience the more current Missions don't run true to shoe as many people will have you think tho. I wear a full size down in Mission skates from my street shoes. i've heard the Mission skates that were pre-2000 ran true to shoe but i dunno cos i was still skating rollerblade hardboots to play hockey then.
