Whats a lie?

I have been hearing you guys talk about lies. I know that it is something about the curve of the blade but dont know much more than that. I also would like to know how to find out what kind of lie is on my blade.

Lie is the angle created by the intersection of the shaft and blade. If you click on "Pattern DB" above it has the lie listed for most curves on the market.

the lower the number lie, the greater the angle formed by the shaft and blade. As a result, a lower lie will have you more hunched over, while a higher lie leaves you more upright.

also with different lies if you bend you knees alot and you like keeping the puck closer to you body you would get a shorter stick with a higher lie or if you skate up right and you like the puck far away you get a stick with a lower lie that is a little bit longer.
