RBK 7K Bag

Recommended Posts

Okay, Review time... (Might get a bit long winded, bear with me)

First impressions, seems small, but black and lime green looks super sharp. Bag fits perfectly upright in the back seat of my car, only taking up one spot, so a great traveling bag. Was a bit leary when it came to putting in all my gear and accessories that I always carry with me. As for Gear, it took it all like a champ. Not much extra room for shower stuff, towell, sandals, shampoo and the sort, but it all fit like a glove. The pocket on the front, is more like a Flap than a pocket, could be bigger for a good spot to put the shower materials or accessories/tape. BIG skate pockets on the side, room for skates And sandals, and the mesh will keep the skates very aired out, even though I just bought those Silica packs  The shoulder straps aren't Very padded, could use a little more foam, maybe just an Inch would be sufficient. But I don't intend to be carrying the bag all that often, but would be a good idea for those that do. The Very little pocket on the Inside of the bag isn't very appealing. Only big enough to keep valuables (Ipod, cell phone, wallet). The Ipod would be a good fit, and the cord can come out the cord hole inserted on the side. As nice of an idea it is, it's not very well thought out. The new Warrior warmup suit is a better application for the cord hole idea. Not many players are going to be carrying their bag long enough to warrant running the cord through the hole and put their Ipod Inside the bag just to carry it from the car to the locker room, and take it back out to walk around the rink/pro shop until game time. (just my two cents) Maybe I'll rig up some Speakers to my bag utilizing the stick straps on the side and make use of it That way B) Continuing, the little baggy thing attached to the D clip on the shoulder strap, cute idea, But very stealable. I put my visor cleaner in it with a small microfiber towell. Might be a better idea to put the D clip/bag on the Inside, for the valuables, and increase the inside pouch for stuff like laces, tape, screwdrivers, etc.. Now there is a big flap/pouch on the Back of the bag, that could be a good spot for a well folded towell to increase padding, but other than that, somewhat useless. If anyone has any good ideas for that, feel free. JR has mentioned some issues with the Handles on some returns he's had. The handle seems very sturdy, looks like they increased the volume of the handle from just a rod, to a very thick oval. Looks more than capable to withstand some rugged travel. The stick straps on the side of the back is a great idea for during storage. The blade fits perfectly in between the skate pocket and the bag, and is held very securely. Overall, for a backpack bag, Very Awesome. LOTS of Gear room, and very space saving in storage, I know my Boss is happy. Now my bag takes up half the space it did before. Only negs on the bag, could use more side storage, for shower, accessories, etc. Might even wanna put a couple couzies on the outside for Beer/water bottles ;) I'll just have to minimize the crap I carry with me from now on. Sorry for the windage.

EDIT: Just looking at my gear, I realized that I forgot to mention I don't wear normal hockey pants.. i wear a padded underarmour shorts, and roller hockey pants. That being said, I haven't tried packing the bag using a normal set of gear. I'll give it a go in the next couple days, and get back with ya'll. As it Looks right now, they wouldn't fit. But I suppose some creative packing might be the answer. Stay Tuned

I'll look to see if they have improved the product at OneGoal. That flap on the back is basically useless and just gets in the way.
