Custom Tongues

Recommended Posts

I currently have Graf skates and love them but I would like a bit more of a form fitting tongue. I'm thinking of either the NEW GRAF or possibly the Bauer Supreme thats on the One90. Any feedback would be great in regards to lacebite and comfort.

All the people I know with the new Graf tongue didn't like them as much as the older style, but I spose thats coming from people who have been in Grafs for years so they may be biased.

I have been in Grafs now for the last 5 years but I figured I'd try to find a tongue that was a bit more form fitting and forgiving. I wear my shins over the tongue of my skates and thought that the formfitting tongue would be better. Taking what you said into consideration maybe I should look into the Bauer Sepreme tongue.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to have the One90 tongues put on my Grafs. Hows the protection with the One90 tongues.

Yea the new tounges on the grafs only really allow you to put them under your shinpads. Also, does anybody know where too by extra tounges like Pronger and Seabrook have?

You need an industrial strength sewing machine to put them on. You won't be able to do it yourself with a needle and thread. Easiest thing to do is take them to a cobbler...they'll know what to do.

This might be a stupid question, but would a sewing awl be able to lock-stitch a tongue into place?

Just FYI, here's a few pics of some Dan Cleary One90s with huge white felt tongues on them... though presumably they're Bauer, not Graf.

And can someone link me to the One90 tongues on EWH? I can only find standard Supreme tongues...

Every time I hear the word research, my eyes go bleary and I start having convulsive visions of little white gloves and an unpaginated manuscript without end...
