ST, what sort of shaft when broken?

Recommended Posts

I was looking at my ST stick and I noticed that there is a point where the shaft meets the blade under the paint. I was wondering if the blade can be pulled out once heated and if so whether that shaft will be standard or tapered?

Thanks

Youll never be able to pull a blade out of an easton stick some people did it but thats like 2/100 odds. And if you do end up pulling the blade out, you would have to clean out the bottom and put a tapered easton synthesis or synergy II blade. If you want to put a standard blade in the stick, your gonna have to either flip it around of cut enough of the bottom to keep the lenght on your stick id say just flip it around.

I had a green ST, all you do is heat the fuse point until you can almost wiggle the blade right out of the shaft. Once hot enough pull it out, then let it cool down. After that clean up the end with some sort of saw(i used a band saw)

then your good to put in a tapered blade. You are prolly gunna put a plug in the other end of the shaft as it gets shorter

Like the other guys have said, if you do manage to pull the blade out, it will be tapered, like most other OPS. Most of the time it's just easier to cut near he fuse point, chisel the remaining stuff out, and convert it into a tapered shaft, though.

Exactly, the odds of pulling it out clean are slim to none. Get ready to chisel.

no need to chisel, u just gotta heat enough so it melts the glue on the inside then it will pull straight out. If you need to, clean it out with a exacto knife

Ive had a few sticks come back where they werent fused together properly and the customers just pulled the blades right out. Its a very tedious task but if you want a tapered shaft then the chissel is the way to go.
