Mission Intake for Roller

Recommended Posts

I just recently got a mission intake to replace my Bauer 4000. My problem is with the new helmet I seem to be sweating more during practice today. For those of you who use this helmet for roller what do you think of it?

I use it for roller as well and my sweating depends if there is air on in house or not and amount of equipment im wearing during the game.

One of my teamates uses one. He said it doesnt really feel much different than his 5000. But the sweat issue could be from the lil gel pads for padding in the Intake vs. the foam stuff in a 4000. The gel pads in the Intake dont seem like they would absorb any sweat... but then again i dont know about the 4000.

I use a 4000 for both ice/roller..one day I left it at home and had to use an old 690 (good thing I don't clean out the trunk) it looked and felt like I was sweating a lot more..however I think its likely because the looser fit and lack of foam didn't hold the sweat in the helmet...

i had the same problem as you when i moved from my old jofa helmet to bauer 8000. i think the reason why it seems like you sweat a lot more is because of the different padding inside the helmet. it only seems like your sweating more because your old 4000 padding would absorb most of it into the padding while the newer padding seems be to be more water proof so it'll just run down more. that's what i think anyways...

Thanks for the help guys. I have came to the conclusion that the difference in padding is what is causing the extra sweat going from helmet to helmet like you guys suggested but I now have gotten use to it and don’t really notice.
