Phaneauf using Easton?

Recommended Posts

Anyone else notice that during the All Star Skills Comp and Game that Phaneuf was using a Green Easton ST. Glad to see he agrees to put his name on the new Rbk 7K and doesnt even use it. I know a lot of guys use other sticks that they dont endorse but this is the newest citing!

I could be mistaken, but I believe Phaneuf's been using Green STs since last year, and been on the RBK webpage for some time now. I thought I saw a pic of him with an SE recently, in the all star uni.

All i know is that it was a Green Easton, not sure if it was a SE, ST, or whatever else could be. I stated ST because thats the last stick i remember being that color. Im sure RBK isnt too happy with his decision to use an Easton stick

It's not like it was a recent decision. If Phaneuf isn't signed on for sticks, he doesn't have to use them. Take Iginla for example. NBH poster boy for skates/undergear, Easton's git him in their gloves and sticks.

Besides, the point of putting phaneuf's name on the stick isnt so that Phaneuf uses it, it's so that fans of Phaneuf buy them.

If thats true then why would RBK sign him to a deal if he's never going to use the stick and endorse it?

I'm guessing they'll settle for the RBK skates, gloves, and helmet he's been wearing...

in the famous words of Meatloaf "cause 2 outta 3 ain't bad" (not literally...as I'm aware it's 3 items haha)

Crosby doesn't use their sticks and he's the poster boy... I would guess that Rbk is a little more concerned about him not switching to their sticks this year and them having to scrap his pattern... I'm not sure if it's true or just a rumor but my source is pretty reliable... Can anyone else confirm that?

Crosby doesn't use their sticks and he's the poster boy...

I would guess same scenario... he's decked out in RBK from head to toe, stick aside.... gotta give a little to get a lot.

the only reason he's not using their sticks is b/c sher wood got him first. the sher wood contract is up this fall, and that's when RBK's P87 crosby will hit.

I can also read the catalog where it says his pattern will be available 9/07 or whatever it says... However...

I was told by someone with knowledge that Crosby has decided to stay with Sherwood sticks and not switch to rbk when his contract expires as planned, and that people with catalogs were asked to remove the page with his pattern and their catalog would be replaced because the pattern was not going to be produced. Again this isn't my information, i'm not a rep or a dealer, but if it is true then I would imagine that rbk is quite unhappy about it...

Not trying to start or spread a rumor, just what i was told... if it's false then it's false...

From what i heard phaneuf tried out the RBK sticks and broke two in a practise this is why he doesnt use them he would rather use the 05 grip ST. Not sure why he hasnt gone to the 06 one, maybe its like his trade mark "theguy with the green stick" The 06 are also made slighty different and slightly heavier by about 5-10grams i think.

i dont think easton is too fussy about pro's and what model year they use, take martin st.louis for example, a bauer poster boy who is still using yellow synergys. and you have to take into consideration that sometimes just because a pro uses a green synergy it doesnt mean its an ST, for example last year at the u of michigan sale my brother scooped up a cnt stealth usa edition from the WJC, but on the UPC it was labeled as SYN-NHL 110, it was nothing more than a synergy painted to look like a stealth
