Pro stock pant shells

I'm looking at picking up some pro stock pant shells off of ebay for my tackla 4000 girdle. My question is will I be swimming in this shell considering it may have been intended to be worn over a massive players already huge pants? Both my girdle and the shell are size XL. Antone have any experience? Thanks in advance.

it depends on if you are buying a shell or the bottom half a a pair of two piece pants. The pant bottoms tend to be a little bit smaller than a proper shell but is thicker and a little bit more durable. I have a CCM girdle and pant bottoms from the Blackhawks, both in size large works great.

I'm not sure, but I think they might be the bottom half of a two piece pair of pants because they come with thigh pads. A regular shell to fit over a full pair of pants probably wouldn't have additional thigh pads right?

right. regular shells don't have any padding. If you take the thigh pads out, you will have a top notch shell.

Exactly - I wear a XL in pants and a girdle shell but use a L pant bottom.
