Love my new Graf's....

Recommended Posts

I ordered my Graf G3's from hockeyoutlet.com , who shipped them the same day that I called when I told them I wanted them ASAP. A couple of others when I called to check told me that it would be one to three days to process and ship. Hockey Outlet provided me with the tracking number and were pleasant to deal with, I would definitely do business with them again.

When I first opened the box and looked at them and thought, $520.00, no flashing lights, somewhat of a work horse looking skate. Look inside the skate and see a soft looking and feeling interior.

I do the home bake according to OTG's helpful instructions. I was unable to get the gray Super Feet for inserts. I did get the green Super Feet (all purpose), trimmed them up and put them in before the baking. The Super Feet did not take much trimming to shape them to the G3’s inserts. I baked them for three minutes put them on and did not feel much heat inside the skates. They do feel soft and cozy to my feet. Took off the skates after about fifteen minutes and let them sit over night.

My first skate: I got the rink for my game put them on and did they feel good. I skated before my game and after about eight minutes my feet started to ache, kinda like the first couple of skates of the season. The pain was more in the middle of my feet which was different from what I have felt in the past. I skated my first game in them. I had to get use to switching from skating forward to backwards and turning. That to me was expected coming from my Vapor XX's. The ache in the middle of my foot was there and increased a bit more during the game. When I took the skates off and stood up, holy cr*p did I feel the ach. I think that most of the pain was from the Super Feet not the skate.

My second night of skating I played two games, decided to go with out socks. I put them on and the ache was less and my skating was as good as with my old skates during the first game. My feet were still aching but at the same time the G3’s felt so good against my skin. I also noticed that my skating was different. It is hard to describe but I would say that the Graf's and Super Feet were making my feet and legs align in a way that I felt I was able better to cut and my legs felt more fluid and mechanically sound.

My third night of skating was the big coming out for these skates. The skates felt so good on my feet, I would say that they felt more like and extension of my feet rather than something I was wearing. Ya I know they are only a pair of skates but they feel better than any skate, shoe or boot I have ever worn. My skating has improved and the pain which I had with my old skates, were long gone.

Bottom line: For me the G3's along with the Super Feet is the best money I have spent. I have skated on them for three weeks. I am now a pain free and a better skater. I know my ability turn and speed have increased. I would say more about them but I think you get my point.

Big thanks to all of you who contributed to me getting these skates, especially OTG. You have helped make my hockey experience move to the next level.

I'm surprised you're able to use the green Superfeet in your skates. They are much higher volume than the gray, which are themselves higher volume than stock footbeds. I use the green in my hiking boots, but they won't even come close to fitting in my skates. And, if they did, there's no way my feet would fit in there, too. I would think that either the G3 is too deep of a boot for you, or they are a size too big. Hopefully you will still like them after the new skate euphoria wears off - good luck with them.

Just a heads up on your G3's. I have a pair and love them but be sure to keep an eye on the outsole ripping away from the quarters.

There are two different green (light/regular) Super Feet. They did not seam that thick to me. The forward was about the same thickness and the arch was of course was thicker.

The fit is excellent thanks to OTG advising me as to which size and model.

I'll keep an eye on them for any separation……

9 months ago I was all but set on Graf until I heard about this outsole problem. I got steered towards Kor and couldn't be happier!

Yea, this is what convinced me to hold off on G3s...the outsole problem, and my lack of confidence in Graf's customer service if something should go wrong. The new ultra g3 should be coming out soon, and the older ones will be marked down.
