numb toes?

Recommended Posts

i recently purchased a pair of graf 735s. after skating in them a few times i have found that the toes in my right foot are going numb. the skates fit fine, witdth is perfect as is the length. i wore them aroud in the lhs for a good 20 min and noticed nothing. the only thing i can think of is that the boots may not be deep enough, but i dont know. anyone have any ideas or experience with this kind of thing?

My only other guess is that with Grafs you tend to be in a more aggresive forward position and that you may be on the balls of your feet causing pressure on the nerves in the forefoot a bit much. So you may be gettting transient paresthesia which is temporary numbness and tingling of the foot. In most cases you can overcome this. When your on the bench sit with your toes up resting on your heals. This will reduce the constant pressure off of your feet until your next shift. Give this a try and let me know if that works for you.

not sure about the superfeet but I may look into that because I don't really like the feel of the graf footbed (at least from my 705s) on my barefoot. I used to have ccm pro tacks and I liked that footbed (I always skate barefoot). the only reason I was using socks was to avoid blisters during the break in period. although I still got blisters so I'm using bandaids where my ankle is rubbing. I may look into the superfeet because some other guy posted about superfeet w/ his grafs and loves it.

just purchased my son a pair of the 735's yesterday, he has been in a vapor xx forever. i hope he doesn't have any problems with his. i had a similar problem with my synergy 1300's and narrowed it down to the fact that i changed to waxed laces. the waxed laces give a lot less that regular ones. i'm fairly sure that the grafs come with waxed laces, you might want to try regular ones until the skates are well broken in since i've also noticed that the 735's are a very stif boot.

this is what i was referring to when i was asking about the superfeet. is this something that ill adjust to over time or when my skates are more broken in?

If you read my post above I think you'll find that this works. I had the same issue a while ago and have skated in Grafs for years.
