Arch problem in my 9k. only on one foot..

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, I'm skating in tacks since i'm 3yr old , the lines is gone(well i hate the new 2005 tacks). so i found the best alternative was the rbk 9k

Tried it on and everything, i did bake them. waited 24 hours, didn't pump them when they were hot.

I skated 4 hours in public skating and didn't feel any major pain, i was actually very happy to feel so good in a pair of brand new skate.

But i tried them on at my hockey pratice, and DAMN! my right foot was dead.my arch was hurting so badly,it took me 10 minute to put my shoes on!

but my left foot was perfect, no freakin pain at all. I don't get it, i know your feet are different, but when i say one foot was perfect and the other was killing.. i don't understand.

Is there any solution for my problem? New insole? heat them for a second times? I'm asking the expert!

Thanks another time for helping me!

Have to agree. The right foot is by far the one that hurts. I ordered mine online after trying them on locally and then skated with them. Both feet hurt but not as bad as the right. Finally got them baked and it made a world of difference but if there is any pain left, its definately in the right.

i hate the new 2005 tacks.

I'm a Tack's guy myself (04 Pro Tacks), though I haven't got to try the 05 Pro Tacks yet, and I'm just curious what do you dislike about the 05 line? Sorry I cant help you out, and I hope you don't mind me asking...

I skated in the 652, 1152 ('03) and i'm now in the 852. What i dislike with the new tacks lines is:

-the way they make it look like a vector but with the Tacks logo.

-They are just 10x stiffer than the pro tacks 2004, IMO it would take me 1 month to break the boot around the ankle area.

-I found the foam/padding to be not as soft as the 2004, maybe with a heat molding, they would softer just as much as the older model but still that is my impression.

-The tongue is also different, i'm very picky on the tongue of a skate,( I had the plastic removed in my F10 tongue because i didn't like the way it flexed)

-The price, 600cnd is way too much for me, they could be 350 by now, but because there's no new tacks lines they stay the same.

For all those kind of things, i do not like the new tacks line.à

But could we back-up on the subject please! :)

600cnd is too expensive and u can buy 9ks?

Don't worry, i didn't pay the retail price for these skate! Paying more than 450 for a pair of skate IMO is just BS.

cobrAA I feel your pain... literally.

I have a pair of 5k pumps and I also get pain in the arch of my right foot but the left boot is perfect. I don't know why it happens but if anyone has a solution id really like to know.

We aren't alone either, a friend of mine has a pair of 6k inlines and he had the same problems too.

RBK problem? or do we just have messed up feet?

loosen up the laces til they are snug, then loosen them a litle more so you can just put your pinky under the lace when your foot is in the skate.

do this to every lace underneath where the "apex" is on the skate, the part where the eyelets make an obvious turn upwards. (forgive me cause i dont know the real name)

you don't experience any issues with your normal footwear or anything, do you? See, I have the same issue with the right skate of my 9K's, but I know for a fact I have a problem with my right foot/ankle.. I've ended up in custom orthotics, etc.

I also experienced pain in my feet w/ new 9k's. I put in shockdoctor footbeds and that didn't help. I tried many lacing combos (loose below, more pump, less pump, very tight on top, etc.) In the end I purchased a pair of Sole Footbeds from my LHS. They are heat moldable in the oven. You put them in a 200 degree oven for a few minutes and then put them in your skates, tie them tight and wait 10 min. until they are cool.

Let me tell you, these made all the difference in the world. I can tie my skates tight, just how I like them and pump as much or as little as I like. No pain of any kind and no numbness. My feet have never felt better in a pair of skates. I believe I paid $35 US for them. You may want to try those or something similar to them.

As a side note I've had pain of some kind in every pair of skates I've owned until I put these insoles in.
