Allsmokenopancake 0 Report post Posted February 5, 2007 OK, so I am changing out my cage to an itech visor, but the screws are not long enough. I went to my LHS and he gave me a couple, but they are still not long enough. There is a hardware store close to where I work, so was going to go over at lunchtime, to pick up some screws, but I forgot to bring one for sizing.Anyone know how thick a screw I need to get to mount to a bauer 4500 helmet.Cheers
Chadd 916 Report post Posted February 5, 2007 If you got an HS22 and it came with spacers and longer nuts, you can usually get by with 1/2" bolts. Otherwise, you're going to need 3/4" to get through the spacers. Without spacers 1/2" usually works.
Allsmokenopancake 0 Report post Posted February 5, 2007 I got the visor from e-bay, no mounting gear at all. Thought my helmet screws would work, but not long enough. So may have to go 3/4 methinks. My lhs gave me 1/2's for them

chk hrd 164 Report post Posted February 5, 2007 get rid og the plastic piece to screw the helmet on with and use the metal piece from a different cage. I had to do that to get my son's cage on his 8k
RadioGaGa 162 Report post Posted March 21, 2007 Does Itech make 3/4" screws? I doubled up the spacers on my helmet to try to prevent the visor from flexing the helmet sides as much as it does and the screws wouldn't reach. I went to 2 places looking for longer screws and all they had were 1/2".I stopped at Can Tire and bought 3/4" screws, but the heads on them aren't as big as the Itech screws? They are wider then the slots in the visor, but only be a little. I don't want it to pop through.Would a thin plastic washer between the screw head and visor do the trick? Or is there a "recommended" screw that you guys at shops use when the stock ones don't fit.
