Making the switch from Modano to Federov

Recommended Posts

From the handy ModSquad pattern chart, it appears that the federov blade is pretty much exactly like the modano blade. I'm tired of my synthesis blades cracking/splitting on the bottom so I am going to give innovative blades a try. My question is however, how much different are the blades? I see that the federov is a medium in length and the modano is short. I have been using the modano for awhile now and I have gotten used to it, to those of you that have made the switch, is the difference in length noticeable?

Also, while I'm at it....if you have used both the synthesis blade and the innovative blade, which one do you perfer?

Thanks for your help.

I had a Synth with a Modano composite blade and a different Inno style tapered blade. The Inno was a lot better in terms of feel. I also had a Fedorov in standard hosel and it seems to be a bit longer than the Modo. The Modano being too short was one of my only complaints against the blade and the Inno seemed a bit bigger.

The hossa PM9 Vapor XV is identical to the modano, and very similar in construction to the inno blades.

My review should be up soon of the XV, the synthesis blade is terrible in comparison.

Sorry for bringing my own question back out of the grave but people say that the PM9 is a CLONE of the Modano but the MSH pattern finder says that the PM9 blade is longer? is this true? If it is, are any of these other Modano clones as short as the Modano: Gaborik, Tkachuk or Fedorov?

Thanks.
