Graf 7000 TSKR Shaft

Recommended Posts

Can anybody give me some feedback on the performance or durability of this shaft?

I'm looking to buy either a "flex medium" or "medium". Would anybody know the rough Easton equivalent of Graf's flex rating?

Thanks.

Yes. I currently use a Mission Team Comp Biomorphic shaft and the Graf has a similar feel. It's a juniorlike radius at the butt end, but flares out about five inches at the bottom of the shaft to fit senior blades.

I've been looking at getting a 70 flex Cyclone, but for $50 CAD plus tax, the Graf seems like a pretty good deal. I had the shop guy measure it out (48 inches in length) and the weight seems similar to the Cyclone.

We sold the old version a few years ago and they didn't hold up at all. I have no idea if the new ones are any better.

Thanks for the input.

More of a general question, but what's Graf's relationship with Busch? Would this shaft and their OPSs be Busch technology? Is Graf still actively selling sticks/shafts? Apart from the store I was in yesterday, I've never seen Grafs sold anywhere else.

The OPS are made by Busch, no idea who makes the shafts but they used to look an awful lot like Branches shafts.

Yes, the bottom half of the shaft is gold with the top half black. Just as they're shown on the Graf website...

What kind of performer was the Double Trouble? If the Graf shaft is a Branches shaft, I guess the "Negative Medium" as listed for Branches in the flex chart is what Graf calls "Flex Medium", which answers my flex question.

The Double Trouble wasn't Branches top shaft in terms of performance. The K-Lite was considered to be (think Z-bubble but with much better durability). The Double Trouble was designed to give good performance and excellent durability. Jordan Leopold used Branches sticks and shafts from high school through his rookie season with Calgary, in particular the Double Trouble (when it came out). He loved the Double Trouble (from what I read). The old Branches website had some good info on there but alas, it, like their products, no longer exist.

So it sounds like the Graf shaft is ultimately an older, lower level shaft.

Perfect. I'm an older, lower level player so it sounds like a good fit. I'll be using one shortly....

Thanks to all for their input!!

I used one for quite awhile and I was happy with the feel and performance. Mine wasn't the thin profile version though so I can't comment on the durability

Is that a LHS or a website (I might be interested in buying one, as well)?

I'm in Toronto and the store is called Spokes (no website). It's primarily a bike shop with some basic hockey stock.

I put a hold on 2 Flex Medium shafts and from what I recall, they had 1 or 2 more Flex Medium, 2 Medium, and 1 Stiff left.

They are 60% off their 'regular' price of $129.99 CAD. All in, the price is $59.28 CAD.

Correction. They do have a website....
