RBK 4K shinguards 13.5

Recommended Posts

Anyone wearing the RBK 4K shinguards?? I noticed they have an intermediate size, 13.5. There seems to be such a big size difference going from 13 inch to 14 inch. Thoughts, doubts, comments???

I've had them about a week, and I've been happy with them. They are obviously a different paradigm from other guards with their free-floatig design, but I like them. One member did say he snapped one of the fit-lite straps after a month or two, but I didn't hear anyone else have the same problem. One complaint is the little "nub" that comes out of the top of the knee pad can get caught on the bottom of your pants, but it's a pretty minor issue.

I have been using the 15" version of this shin guard and like them a lot.

Have taken some big shots off them and not even felt it. I think they fit well and I have not had a problem with the Fit lite straps breaking in over 4 months of 2 x per week playing. I have used them both under the tounge and over and while it seems the design favours the under the tounge placement, over the tounge hasn't caused any problems with a Graf 704 and a RBK 5K.

I'd also like to know the answer to this question.

Currently using 4k 14". They turn a bit on my chicken legs. I tried on a teammate's 13" 3k's and they fit much more snugly. There is quite a difference in width between the 13" and 14" models. However, I found the 13" a tad too short, but otherwise, they fit great.

Would like to hear about the 13.5" fit if anyone has tried it.

The 13.5" Intermediate shinguard is 14" inches long, but has the same width as the JR model.

I believe I read somewhere that the 13.5 is a combination of the jr kneecap from the 13" with the shin of the 14" sr model. Supposedly, you get the length of the sr without as much bulkiness. I wish I remembered where I read/heard that so I could make a better citation, in case I got it mixed up.

Picked up the RBK 4K shinguards today. Man are these things light. They are a little narrower than I would like but I will try them anyway. Overall, they look pretty good.

Sizing guidelines from RBK: Based on player's height

13.5" 5'2"-5'6"

Note: The size 13.5 has the knee cap of a 13" shin guard with a slim lower section of a 14" shin guard. This allows for slim design. Great for forwards.

literature found on Inline Warehouse site.
